It shoots web missiles, and is a cool Italian Spider-Man toy vehicle. It’s about as big as 4 Hotwheels put together, and comes in pieces that snap together. Definately stands out as being one of the best Spider-Man toy cars of 2010. Marvel at this!

Coming soon from Hasbro! Although I am a bit perplexed by the dog “Miss Lyon” from the 80′s cartoon being with MJ, as the dog was associated with Firestar in the cartoon “Spider-man and His Amazing Friends”. Still cool though!

OK, I’ll say it,…they just didn’t make these kind of things when I was little. Of course Marvel was in it’s infancy when I was 3 years old, and Marvel cartoons did not appear on T.V. until I was about 5. This offering from Hasbro is a 3-D pop up playset that folds out, and comes with Spider-man and Iron Man. I still find it hard to believe that Spider-man is part of the Avengers. He was a loner in the comics for over 40 years, and at that time no team would have him.

70s Amazing Spider-man Gil Kane Cover Art

The artist Gil Kane who was already famous from his work at Marvel’s rival DC comics started doing the art to Spider-man during the early seventies. He was responsible for some of Spidey’s landmark issues such as when Spider-man’s girlfriend Gwen Stacy was killed by the Green Goblin. Gil had a style that was unmistakable, and still revered today. Here is the black and white art to Amazing Spider-man 102 by the master!

Aurora Spider-man Model 1966

A year before Spider-man became animated for the very first time, the popular model makers Aurora immortalized him in plastic. Not only did they do our friendly neighborhood webslinger, they also included an unconscious Kraven the Hunter. Back in 1966 the model included a plastic plaque with Spidey’s name, a plastic gun, and can. However, the 1974 reissue of the model did not include the previous mention items. This was probably due to the fact that at that time there was concern about firearms and children. The 1966 box has Neal Adams artwork, while the 1974 reissue box has John Romita Sr. art. The set was issued yet again by Playing Mantis after the year 2000, but had a limited cropped artwork from the first edition that did not show Kraven. Original Sixties Spider-man Cartoon!

Recently in 2004, Marvel and Buena Vista (Disney) released a box DVD set of the old Spider-man cartoon series. All 52 episodes of Spider-Man’s original 1967 classic television series, were completely restored in full color from 1967-1970 all in one set. Now it’s being released overseas in 9 different DVDs with brand new package artwork. There has only been a handful of items based on that original 67 series, and some of the characters portrayed in the cartoon were never in a comic. So seeing some of these characters prominently displayed on the package was great for an old school fan. Check out just one of these covers below featuring the episode “Menace from the Bottom of the World”.

Strange Foreign Spider-man Game!

This Italian “Spider-man and Friends” game looks a bit like the American “Hungry Hippos” game I have seen kids play. I find it odd that the treehouse, or clubhouse has english signs, and yet the game box is in Italian. Also the choice of Storm as the fourth character instead of a more popular one like Ironman or Thor seems to be a choice to draw the girls into the play. Anyone have anymore info on this?
